To: INFACT - An Academy Award Winning National Grassroots Corporate Watchdog
Organization
From: Robert X. Shuster
Executive Director
The Shuster Project - Tobacco Industry Fraud & False Claims Issues
Date: 7/10/2000

To Whom It May Concern,

I was sent your web site to review by one of my staffers.

We are preparing our own "Wall of Shame" for the entire CT State

Legislature, various national politicians, several leaders of various

national organizations purporting to be concerned about tobacco issues as

they affect their memberships, an incredible number of useless media outlets

and others...so it seems our Cathy did some web surfing and saw you did some

of the same thing.

The Shuster Project presents NON-health related tobacco industry Fraud &

False Claims Issues including, but not limited to, tobacco industry state and

federal Income Tax Fraud, states Sales Tax Fraud, tobacco company Antitrust

violations and much, much more.

Our Mission Statement and Project Profile information are clearly stated

on our main web site entry page at:

http://www.rxshuster.org

All of my personal contact information is also clearly stated at the

bottom of that page, making me the most accessible Executive Director of any

Tobacco Issues web site on the entire Internet.

The Shuster Project stands as a "teaching" resource for various tobacco

industry issues including, but not limited to, Consumer Targeting of Women,

Children, the Elderly, Minorities, Truck Drivers, Vacationers and others.

The Shuster Project also makes factual tobacco industry-related

presentations in the areas of several Legal Issues including legislative

initiatives we have presented to the CT State legislature, Business Issues

which, for now, illustrates a false claim scheme utilized by the tobacco

companies to trick stockholders into believing that far greater numbers of

tobacco product inventories are being sold "out of warehouse" and "into

market" when the actual figures used are fraudulent.

We have begun to address the huge financial impact that occurs from the

theft and embezzlement of cigarettes by tobacco company representatives out

of wholesale and retail outlets that sell and/or inventory cigarettes that is

so extensive we have begun a "Project" within a "Project;" the New Dance

Project teaches store owners to throw away everything that they thought they

know about tobacco product inventory security and encourages them to learn

new steps to successfully protect these multibillion dollar inventories,

collectively, across the country.

And we give them several starting methods by which to accomplish this

that at least forces them to reluctantly, if need be, take a new look at this

subject.

One Wholesaler, alone, in Connecticut suffered a loss due to theft by a

tobacco company representative in excess of $110,000.00 and yet another

Wholesaler in the Alabama area suffered a loss in excess of $165,000.00.

TWO individual outlets, $275,000.00 lost to embezzlement and theft.

WHO can IGNORE that?

By utilizing actual tobacco company documents, forms, guides,

advertising materials, contract forms and much more the general public has

never seen before, we illustrate the various "tactics" and techniques

employed by the tobacco companies to lure children, the elderly and other

vulnerable segments of our society into purchasing cigarettes and other

tobacco products.

With over 17+ years inside the tobacco industry, I present and translate

dozens of "tobacco culture" documents and materials into language the general

public, hopefully, can understand.

But, in light of the 16,000+ web pages The Shuster Project receives

monthly, it is clear the general public, teachers, students, women, children

and people around the world are becoming more and more interested in learning

the unique content The Shuster Project offers.

And with new content being added approximately every 8-10 weeks and with

the introduction of our new online broadcasting station iCAT, internet

Citizens Action Talk-PC, launched in early May of 2000, we are also the

premiere interactive tobacco web site anywhere on the Internet with any

citizen with any tobacco issue concern able to contact me directly and get

that concern "on the air."

Our iCAT Broadcasting Station can be accessed at:

http://www.givemetalk.com/default.asp?ASPName=displaySeries.asp&ArgName=Series

ID&ArgVal=1535

...and just scroll down to the bottom of that page to the "Listen Now"

links.

Although we only have two shows produced so far, we are concentrating on

producing many more very soon and YOUR membership can help to shape the

content of those shows directly and personally!

We are also in the process of producing NON-Health related Tobacco Issue

video presentations and will hopefully be rolling those out within the next

month or two…it is a very exciting time for us, here.

Although it is an exciting time for us here at The Shuster Project, in

the midst of it all, we are constantly reminded of the many people, both

elected and appointed, in public office or in leadership positions of

national organizations, that many of these individuals have their own petty

agendas that don't include protecting their memberships from the abuses of

tobacco industry Fraud & False Claims issues and that don't address how their

memberships continue to wind up "subsidizing" vast sums of defrauded state

and federal Income Tax revenues as a result of past, present and continuing

tobacco industry State and Federal Income Tax Fraud.

You can see immediate, startling examples of this in this tobacco

industry Federal Income Tax Fraud in The Shuster Project web site at:

http://rxshuster.org/federal.htm

... and ...

http://rxshuster.org/federal.htm

We hope that you make The Shuster Project web site available to your

entire membership.

We empower ordinary citizens to do extraordinary things by merely giving

them sound Grassroots Efforts guidelines, strategies and structure designed

to harness their individuality into a focused, partnered effort with us...and

perhaps now, you.

We also provide them with Petitions, Surveys, Message Boards and more by

which to channel their individual concerns, passions and ideas about Tobacco

Issues into very real formats, very potent presentations of their own and

very appreciated packages of efforts that are tangible and become part of the

mountain of "On the Record" data we are accumulating and that is reviewed by

the general public and others in an ever-increasing rate.

If you have any questions about this correspondence or anything you come

across in The Shuster Project web site that I can help you with, please feel

free to contact me directly.

You have many, many ways to do that. :o)

And we are confident that we have provided you with extremely potent new

"criteria" by which to build a NEW "Hall of Shame" and please feel free to

quote our web site directly, utilizing any pictures we display in The Shuster

Project web site, so long as you give The Shuster Project credit for their

usage.

I would also ask if you would choose any graphic within your web site

and send it to me with the hyperlink we could use to link your web site to

The Shuster Project web site.

Having reviewed your web site, I would be pleased to add it to our

growing community of linked sites of various Tobacco Issues content.

I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

As is our custom, this correspondence will soon be displayed in our

Correspondence 2000 page for public review.
