Headline: The Tobacco MSA and Criminal Tax Liabilities 2

To CT's Congressmen, V.P. Candidate and CT Senator Joe Lieberman and CT's Attorney General # Blumenthal,

The Master Settlement Agreement reached between most of the states and the tobacco companies expressly preserves the right of states to bring any criminal actions that may be warranted.

The settlement has no bearing on any such criminal proceedings, whether grounded in federal, state, or local law.

 [MSA XII(a)(7)].

The agreement also makes an express exception for state suits concerning tax liabilities or liabilities under any licensing fee provisions.

 [MSA II(nn)(1)].

Finally, the agreement does not preclude the states from going to court to enforce the commitments undertaken by the tobacco companies in the settlement agreement and the associated consent decrees.

Tobacco companies state Income Tax Fraud & state Sales Tax Fraud in Connecticut alone is conservatively estimated at between $1-$3 BILLION DOLLARS.

The Shuster Project has informed all states Attorneys General, select Members of the House and every Senator of these crimes and other tobacco industry Fraud & False Claims for approximately one year now.

They all continue to avoid doing their jobs by enforcing the law against tobacco industry Income Tax Fraud & state Sales Tax Fraud.

I ask all who see this to sign this Petition to historically record your instructions to all elected officials to act decisively with The Shuster Project to recover these defrauded funds for their states and taxpayers.

Attempts are being made by the tobacco companies to buy and influence elected officials to shield themselves from litigation of these crimes … we MUST NOT let the tobacco companies succeed in this influence peddling.

Fear of the tobacco companies is NO EXCUSE to NOT enforce Fraud and Tax Liability and Tax Fraud laws at either the State or Federal level!

Make sure these elected officials merely UPHOLD THE LAW
