NON-Health related tobacco industry fraud and false claims issues Date:
2/9/2000 follow-up to Letter Dated: 9/24/99 Dear
Mr. Mfume, After
much patience awaiting any response from you to my second letter back
to you, I must draw that wait to an end. It
seems clear that you have no intentions to utilize my web site, my information or even my
offer to participate in your states chapters business workshops or other programs
which would assist your membership from continuing to be victims of tobacco industry fraud
and/or false claims issues. As
I am focused on working with those persons and organizations that have their memberships
best interests in mind, I can no longer consider you dependable in providing such
consideration to your own membership. Had
you any questions, surely even one, that you might have had in reference to my offers to
assist you and your membership to address the issues of tobacco industry fraud and false
claims, I would not think that you were insincere in your purported willingness to
participate with The Shuster Project relative to
your organizations membership. I
may, at some future time, choose to contact individual chapters of your organization and
continue to offer my assistance and invite them
to participate in our efforts. I
am deeply saddened that, as a leader, you choose to ignore issues of tobacco
industry fraud and false claims that adversely affect your business membership that
inventories and/or sells tobacco products as well as your elderly, women and youngsters
within your membership. This
will be my final communication to you
directly. Should
you wish to continue a dialogue, please utilize email. As
usual, I will be including this letter in The Shuster Project web site to illustrate the
lengths I will go to enlist people in positions of leadership and/or authority for the
benefit of their memberships to protect those memberships from tobacco industry fraud and
false claims issues. How
sincere those persons are to protect their memberships from tobacco industry fraud and
false claims issues and how they utilize the information and resources placed at their
disposal shall also be displayed for all to see. Sincerely, Robert X. Shuster Executive Director The Shuster Project email: rshus177@aol.com 2/9/2000
