Petition #21

It should be noted that this is the FIRST Petition that is "technically" being "sponsored" by "The Shuster Project" for it directly appeals to enlightened individuals to address the issue of State's across the United States of America that are using "Tobacco Settlement" money for "General Fund" purposes, including DEFICIT REDUCTIONS, which is NOT for what the INTENTION of that money was supposed to be used for ... SMOKING INTERVENTION PROGRAMS!

Please go to: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/516411815 for as long as it is "up and running" and add your name to this noble cause?

As I always "Practice what you Preach" I was proud to add my name to this Petition, for as most of you already know, I have brought this and significant other issues involving tobacco industry fraud & false claims issues before this CT Governor Rowland and he STILL continues to choose to DO NOTHING to recover what is now easily in excess of $33o+ MILLION DOLLARS in both defrauded CT State Income tax Revenues and defrauded CT State Sales Tax Revenues.

Because every CT Newspaper, Radio News Station and Television News Station that has been directly contacted by "The Shuster Project" in both Press Release and Special Alerts, have also chosen to NOT RUN ONE SINGLE STORY OR INVESTIGATION INTO TOBACCO INDUSTRY FRAUD & FALSE CLAIMS CRIME, it is more iimportant than ever that you take the time to sign Petitions such as these, for the "media" appears to be in someone's pocket ... for it is surely NOT REPORTING IN THE CT CITIZEN'S BEST INTEREST'S!

PETITION #21 READS AS FOLLOWS:

We the undersigned, endorse the following petition:
Tobacco Prevention Money Isn't Meant to Pay Down the State Deficit!
Target: Your Governor
Sponsor: Cindy Evans

Right now, governors across the U.S. are trying to pay down the state deficit by using funds specifically raised for tobacco prevention. This questionable practice not only threatens our children but the integrity of our state governments.

Urge your governor to use tobacco money as it was meant to be used - to protect our children from tobacco addiction.NOTE: When you sign this petition, you will get free updates about tobacco related issues from ThePetitionSite's partner, Tobacco Free Kids. .....

Tobacco Prevention Money Isn't Meant to Pay Down the State Deficit!
Right now, governors across the U.S. are trying to pay down the state deficit by using funds specifically raised for tobacco prevention. This questionable practice not only threatens our children but the integrity of our state governments.

Smoking prevention programs save money and lives! The state of California saved $100 million in health care costs within seven years of starting tobacco prevention programs, $11 million of which were saved in the first two years of the programs! Let's successfully save money and the lives of our kids in our state!

Please use tobacco money as it was meant to be used - to protect our children from tobacco addiction.
