To Whom It May Concern,

This 5th Press Release announces the planned conversion of The Shuster Project Web site from Media Interactive mode to General Public Interactive mode.

Of the approximately 3,200 legitimate Media outlets originally contacted in May of 1999, approximately half have responded by accessing The Shuster Project Web site, more than surpassing our expectations.

We originally planned to have this prototype Tobacco Issues Web site available exclusively to 3 formats of Media (Newspapers, Radio & Television News) to access as a resource for never before revealed Tobacco Industry Fraud & False Claims Issues for a period of 6 months.

This having been achieved, including a diversity of exchanges in communications, hyperlinks and other forms of "interaction," we are dramatically shifting our focus from Media to the General Public.

We are utilizing Search Engine registrations, Activist organization contacts and soon, more School curriculum committees from all over the country, including more libraries, suggesting that they, too, add us to their databases beyond those that have already done so.

We are the first NON-Health related Tobacco Industry Fraud & False Claims Issues Web site on the Internet to use tobacco company documents, forms and guides to, in part, illustrate and translate a huge array of fraudulent tobacco company policies, practices, procedures and false claims.

We are the most "interactive" Tobacco Issues Web site on the Internet, providing not only extensive contact information but also adding an internal, "real time" moderated chat room giving the General Public, now, as well as the Media, access to the principal of The Shuster Project Web site content.

We are the first Tobacco Issues Web site on the Internet to have legislation presently pending (HB6942-Ct. Legislature) to begin to directly engage fraudulent tobacco company policies, practices, procedures and false claims.

We are the first Tobacco Issues Web site to give Victimized Businesses of Tobacco Company employee theft and embezzlement of their tobacco product inventories a resource to access to prevent this theft from continuing, including the means to do so in "real time" via our internal chat room.

The conversion to "General Public" mode has included the addition of five (5) new categories, which will also expand over time

  1. Consumer Targeting

  2. Grassroots Effort

  3. Media Outlets

  4. Consumer Groups

  5. American Tobacco Company Press Policies.

With the expected cooperation of the NAACP and other national Organizations, we anticipate a variety of individual, Organizational and "group" efforts to be undertaken to address the issues The Shuster Project is exposing in a measured approach.

Although the focus of our efforts is now on our original "Mission," I will always be available to address any question any Media outlet may have relative to any present content of The Shuster Project Web site.

There are several contact mechanisms provided for Media Outlets within The Shuster Project Web site.

With Warm Regards,

Robert X. Shuster - Executive Director - The Shuster Project http://www.rxshuster.org
