(Please Note: This letter is dated 6/6/02)

Dear Steve,
It was your initial email to me via our web site that initiated my response to it, for we normally do NOT solicit such links and/or cooperation on our own, now, enjoying our own high level of critical acclaim and recognition of our work.

A copy of what I assume was your email to us first is enclosed at the bottom of this email.

I appreciate your having gotten back in touch with me, anyway.
I believe you are incorrect with respect to your assessment as to how The Shuster Project could possibly have any negative impact upon your work, as we actually touch upon the waste and litter at the corporate/field level with respect to their negligence in dealing with it in a fraudulent manner that considerably and negatively impacts municipal waste removal services not only here in the States but probably there as well.
See this:
http://www.rxshuster.org/municipa.htm

The waste depicted in this section represents a far greater tonnage of tobacco industry waste than is being generated by a smokers careless disposal of cigarette butts into the environment, which is by no means taking away from that issue also.
All I am trying to draw, with the analogy of the above hyperlink, is that your organization and mine DO have common ground with which to exchange ideas and dialogue.

Our organization is most definitely NOT an "anti-smoking" or a "quit-smoking" group, but rather an organization that is addressing the fraud and false claims within the tobacco industry that negatively impacts many municipalities, states and countries, of which your issue is but one and of which issues we address by the dozens upon dozens.

With that said, I had assumed your level of excitement and realization of our commonality, as based upon your initial email to me via OUR web site, would have been quite high and accepting, but I see clearly that it is not.

We generally never have any interest to pursue linkage and cooperation on our own where, for whatever the reason or misunderstanding, it wasn't wanted or accepted, so we wish you continued success with your excellent work.

My only question would be why, then, did you contact us to begin with, if indeed you were the "Steve" who contacted US via our web site, asking that we review your web site and, what we assumed, was an interest in your part for us to seek possible cooperation with one another?
It's an interesting question, indeed.
Sincerely,
RXShuster
