As this ongoing, negative financial impact totals in the multiple billions of dollars, it has a direct, negative impact on these state's contributions to every tier of education from building maintenance and supplies to staffing and curriculum shortages.

     The Shuster Project web site contains many grassroots programs that address these tobacco industry crimes and our Project has been successful in having passed a strong, albeit somewhat diluted, False Claims law, (HB6942) that continues to remain unused, but which can easily recover in excess of $300+ Million defrauded dollars back into the treasury of CT alone which, if lobbied correctly, could be mostly dedicated for the previously stated educational purposes.

     We encourage both "The Daily Campus" and the students of all of the campus's of UConn to visit "The Shuster Project" web site to not only learn more about these ongoing tobacco industry crimes, but to actively participate in our grassroots programs that address it and to actively contact your state and federal legislators and loudly indicate your expectations that they investigate these crimes and work openly, publicly and forcefully to recover these enormous, defrauded revenues so that they can be turned back into the educational needs of Connecticut's communities.
