In keeping with the established “outreach” policy of our grassroots organization relative to tobacco industry fraud and false claims issues/crimes, and in order to achieve more “balance” with respect to how, it seems, a greater number of Republicans have been contacted in regards to these issues, we now send this communiqué to the Democratic National Committee.

As the Executive Director of the award-winning "The Shuster Project - Tobacco Industry Fraud & False Claims Issues" (http://www.rxshuster.org/), and just since May 14th of 1999, our grassroots organization has brought the specific details of just TWO, out of the many, corporate tobacco industry fraud and false claims crimes to the attention of the IRS, then-President Clinton and then-Vice President Gore, then-U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, all U.S. Senators and select U.S. Congresspersons, all states' Attorneys General, CT Governor Rowland and all CT state representatives and all CT state senators including several other select state governors and select state legislators, then-"candidate-for-President" Bush and again as "current" President Bush, the leaders of select national organizations such as NAACP, NOW, AARP and others.

The specific "details" that we provided them were as to HOW just THESE two corporate crimes of 1.)-tobacco industry states' and federal income tax fraud and evasion and 2.)-tobacco industry states' sales tax fraud and false claims crimes, COMBINED, total in excess of many, many multiple tens of BILLIONS of dollars not including an also equally enormous, if not a surpassing, sum of accrued interest and penalties with respect to the various, defrauded state and federal political subdivisions such as the defrauded federal IRS and the defrauded equivalent state-level income tax control authority, defrauded Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, defrauded state and federal Unemployment Tax withholdings and then keeping in mind that JUST these TWO tobacco industry fraud and false claims crimes continue, unabated, to this very day.

As an extremely high-ranked field sales representative with 17+ years of experience with the now-defunct American Tobacco Company, I was also able to produce a number of tobacco industry documents, forms and other materials that pinpoint, exactly, not only the means and methods by which the tobacco companies both sanctioned and perpetrated these two crimes in particular, but this material clearly indicates WHERE the defrauded multiple tens of BILLIONS of dollars IS so that this huge sum can actually be RECOVERED at both the state and federal level.

Astonishingly, not ONE of the above-mentioned state and/or federal officials contacted, beginning with either of the two Presidents and then going downwards to any of the other state or federal officials or any state or federal Attorneys General or any of the leaders of any of the contacted national organizations whose members, as we described to them in specific detail, are severely and negatively impacted by these tobacco industry fraud and false claims crimes, not ONE has lifted one finger to either address these corporate crimes that exceeds the financial damages of Enron and WorldCom COMBINED, nor have any of them lifted one finger towards investigating these crimes or cared to develop a plan to RECOVER any of these multiple tens of BILLIONS of dollars in defrauded state and federal tax revenues with the goal of RETURNING these defrauded state and federal tax revenues BACK to the PEOPLE, where it belongs.

As a result of the “avoidance” and as a result of the “ignoring” of these significant corporate tobacco industry crimes at both the state and federal level by the myriad number of the state and federal officials and all of the others that my staff and I have painstakingly endeavored to alert, to enlighten and to teach the details of and about, the “focus” of “The Shuster Project” has shifted somewhat sooner than we had anticipated towards more successfully teaching grammar school students, high school and university students, along with their teachers, parents and the general public, as to a wider-ranging number of tobacco industry fraud and false claims issues/crimes.

In September of 2000, StudyWeb.com bestowed upon “The Shuster Project” it’s ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD, thus making our web content applicable to all school’s curriculum in Grades 12+ in the subjects of HISTORY and SOCIAL STUDIES in and for the topics of CRIMINAL JUSTICE and WHITE COLLAR CRIMES.

In May of 2002, The International Association of Webmasters and Designers - (IAWMD) bestowed upon “The Shuster Project” it’s GOLDEN WEB AWARD “in recognition of Creativity, Integrity and Excellence on the Web.”

The critical acclaim and credible recognition “The Shuster Project” now continues to receive is indisputable validation of both our work and of our efforts to inform the American people with respect to tobacco industry fraud and false claims crimes.

As the many thousands of classrooms and libraries with computer access for students now access and utilize the award-winning “The Shuster Project” web site for their studies, we have now evolved to the point where we are preparing for publication the main body of our work … the documentation, the graphics and images, the tobacco industry forms, contracts and other materials to comprise our first book and teaching guide consisting of a broader compilation of information on tobacco industry fraud and false claims issues.

Of course, in our book, we will be including the grand scale of all of those state and federal, elected and appointed officials and all of the others that we have contacted over the years who chose their fear of the tobacco companies and, as a result, also chose to do nothing to investigate and recover these huge sums of defrauded tax revenues, thereby allowing these many, many multiple tens of billions of defrauded state and federal tax revenue dollars go unrecovered.

I’m also confident that I’ve accurately gauged exactly how incensed the American public is going to be when they finally discover, in great detail, the running totals of the enormous sums of their state and federal income tax revenue dollars and states’ sales tax revenue dollars that continues to be defrauded by the tobacco companies, unabated, and when they see all of their state and federal representatives and the “associated” official and “leaders” who did absolutely nothing to recover it on their behalf.

As always, “The Shuster Project” stands ready to guide, consul and assist those state and federal officials and those appropriate state and federal institutions willing to conduct whatever numbers of investigations as may be required to ferret out, to the final penny, all of the multiple tens of billions of dollars in the defrauded state and federal income tax revenues and the defrauded states’ sales tax revenues on behalf of the victims, the states’ and federal governments and the American people.

I urge you to take at least take the first step and visit “The Shuster Project – Tobacco Industry Fraud & False Claims Issues” web site.

Sincerely,

Robb Shuster

Executive Director
