Most States regulate, by federal law, that warning labels
MUST be affixed to ALL advertising materials.
On the sleeve to the right facing the picture is the brand logo of this particular
tobacco company on what is undeniably an advertising item.
Noticeably absent is any warning label as required on any
piece of tobacco company advertising.
If such warning labels were mandatory to be placed on all
such promotional items, and proportional to the size of the brand logo on the item, I
believe that they would immediately become quite unfashionable, even among our children.
What responsible adult would want to wear apparel that refers to the possibilities of
giving birth to underweight babies, the risk of emphysema or the dangers of causing cancer
on their lapel?
As a good beginning to restrict the sale of tobacco products to children, promotional
items of all kinds should be stopped for no less than 5 years.
